The Blanchardstown Centre is set to become Ireland's most fashionable destination
The Blanchardstown Centre is set to become Ireland's most fashionable destination, with the major 32 million Red Mall extension at the centre on schedule to open on 4th November next. The extensive new 9,500 square metres area will house 11 new and exclusive retail units and will increase the Centre's size by 15%, reinforcing the centre's positioning as Ireland's premier shopping and leisure destination.
The new Red Mall will have a 'high street' attitude accommodating a cross section of leading Irish and International retailers including Marks & Spencer as the anchor tenant (5760 sq. m). Significantly, leading Spanish retailer Zara has ed Blanchardstown as the location for their first store outside of Dublin city centre.
A major coup for the Centre is the introduction of Bershka, part of the Inditex group and sister company of Zara, selling teenage and young womens fashions, who will open their first ever Irish & UK outlet. Other retailers exclusive to the Red Mall will include Orchestra, a successful French childrenswear label; Rebecca Blu, a Greek based ladies fashion label; and Scandinavian menswear chain Bertoni. These join popular favourites BT2, A Wear, Esprit, FCUK, Ernest Jones and Ecco, who will also open in the Red Mall.
Roches Stores, who occupy approximately 8500 square metres of retail space, is currently undertaking a multi million euro refurbishment creating a state of the art flagship store, and will be introducing an exciting portfolio of new brands to the Blanchardstown Centre. Along with Zara, other exclusively available brands will include Springfield, Jane Norman and UK retailer The Pier, among others.
The Red Mall has been designed to create a dynamic airy, light filled area. Architects A&D Wejchert have created a stunning wall feature at the entrance, consisting of a 14 metre landmark sweeping curved red wall that is complemented by a similar internal, curved wall, designed to reflect light deep into the Mall.
The opening of the new Red Mall will coincide with the introduction of new extended 9.00am - 9.00pm week day shopping hours at the Blanchardstown Centre. The Centre's free car parking facilities will be increased to provide 6,500 integrated spaces providing easier access to the Centre.
Blanchardstown Centre General Manager Aidan Grimes, commenting on the development said: "The Red Mall marks an exciting new development which will revolutionise shopping in Dublin. The new broader retail offering will be complemented with 6500 free car parking spaces and the new extended opening hours will combine to ensure shoppers enjoy a relaxed and memorable shopping experience at the Blanchardstown Centre, and will further reinforce the Centre's position as Ireland's leading retail destination."
The Blanchardstown Centre first opened in 1996 and since then has maintained a position as Ireland's leading shopping and leisure destination, with an estimated 16.5 million shopper visits each year, spending an estimated 1.2 billion annually.
